Does the CIA know who Satoshi Nakamoto is?

The biggest mystery in the crypto space has always been about the founder of Bitcoin.

The alias Satoshi Nakamoto first appeared in the document specifying the technology behind bitcoin Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.

A lot of people has tried to find out who the person behind Bitcoin is, but with definitive results so far. Some people believe that Craig Wright is Satoshi, but most people disregard him as he was not able to come up with any evidence to confirm his claim.

Does the CIA know who Satoshi Nakamoto is?

Journalist Daniel Oberhaus, who covers topics like physics, space, cryptocurrency and future energy, has sent an inquiry to the FBI and CIA where he requests information about Satoshi.

The request for the FBI is currently open, but the CIA has sent a so-called «Glomar response», which refers to an answer that neither confirms nor disapproves that there is information about the current inquiry.

The request to get more information about Satoshi has been rejected, with the agency stating that it can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the requested documents.

Oberhaus wonder if the FBI and CIA know who is behind the identity, but they do not talk about it.
