A cryptovirus that affected over a million computers in China has profited more than two million dollars to its creators over the last two years.
Chinese police have arrested 20 suspected suspects from a computer technology company accused of the virus intrusion. The accused embedded the virus into various browser extensions.
A total of 26 million Digibytes has been mined. The virus mainly focused on mining smaller cryptocurrencies, as they do not require as much computer power as larger cryptos such as bitcoin and ethereum.
A report also shows that the hackers developed a network of more than 100 agents to help spread the virus, for example through collaboration with Internet cafes.
